This is a monumental episode of Pop-Punk & Pizza! Why you ask? Because we had vegan pizza for the very first time! The Aquadolls from southern California are all about rockin' the vegan lifestyle. So, I made sure to order an all vegan pan pizza from Kitchen 17 in Chicago. It was incredibly tasty and I've been dreaming about it ever since. This was recorded before The Aquadolls show at Beat Kitchen in Chicago on Sunday, April 3rd. You can catch them on tour this summer with Incubus and Sublime with Rome July 24th through September 3rd! This episode of Pop-Punk & Pizza is sponsored by Austrian pop punk band, Here For A Reason, and their new album, Blank Slate, available now on all streaming platforms.

Several Pop-Punk & Pizza listeners have requested The Dollyrots to be guests on the show over the years. It's about time we made it happen for you! Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas were able to get their favorite pizza place in Tampa, FL, Lee's Grocery, to open up early just for this episode recording. I chose to have one of my local favorites as well, Chicago Dough Company, in Bourbonnais, IL.
It was so much fun chowing down on delicious pizza while talking about their latest release, "Down The Rabbit Hole", which is out now through Wicked Cool Records. The Dollyrots are also currently on tour in the United Kingdom with good friends Bowling For Soup and LIT through April 23rd. Click here for dates!

How Peter James went from playing multiple Vans Warped Tours in Reflective Insight to starting Manic Kat Records in 2014. You might be familiar with some of the label's artists like Neverlyn and Right On, Kid. We've played songs from both of those bands on Pop-Punk & Pizza. There are some pretty cool things happening at Manic Kat right now. Including the launch of their own mobile app and streaming service, PunkHub Live! Thanks for your time, Pete!

Before the pandemic began, Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast would occasionally bring pizza to bands touring through Chicago and have a fun conversation together. My goal was to do as many of these as possible. For the first time since 2019, we were FINALLY able to make this start happening again! On March 6th, I sat down and shared some Lou Malnati's (Chicago's Legendary Deep Dish) with Glimmers at Cobra Lounge in Chicago. I had the pleasure of talking with Glimmer's lead vocalist, Maggie Schneider, virtually on the podcast in 2021. This time, we are joined by the whole band! Maggie, Ari, Jeremy, Alex, and Alex. It was their first time playing in Chicago as well. I was happy that we were able to give them a proper welcome. Thanks for being on the podcast!
P.S. Shout out to our awesome intern, Nathan Burns, for helping assist in recording and editing this episode!
